Left hand... Right hand... Does it matter?

And so I was about alighting from the car when i gave the driver the money...with my left hand... I didn't even realized I was doing so until he said he wasn't collecting the money that I should give it to him properly... I stared at him "meaning? do u know if I'm left handed?" He replied, this time with an irritation I couldn't fathom that I should give him the money properly with my right hand. I got down and started walking away "you are not ready to collect your money" I said to him... He shouted that I should bring his money. I extended my left hand with the money. He collected it, hissed and zoomed off...
Honestly I'm not a left handed person but the manner people place so much important on this right hand issue annoys me... Why so much attachment to the right hand? The driver's attitude is common place especially among elders in Nigeria and that's how they force kids to use their right hand whereas he/she is a "lefty".
Sometimes I do not blame them. They are not aware of the implications... Their ignorance is much more powerful than their reasoning... ‪#‎irestmycase
